reading tips 1- Reading is supposed to be a relaxing time. Pick a comfortable place. Comfortable for your child, that is. On your lap, on the floor, on the sofa, on her bed, in the kitchen, on the bean bag, on a porch swing, under a play tent wherever your special reading spot is, use it as a way to transition your child into reading time. How relaxing!

reading tips 2: The Starter Words reading series is not the only book to teach your child reading. Pick material your child shows an interest in. Use your child's obsessions to lure him or her into reading. That may mean that instead of reading storybooks, you'll be reading a car manual, a newspaper comic strip, food labels, etc. But you'll be reading. Together.

reading tips 3: Schedule a set time each day. 10 minutes a day is all you need. If you have more time, 30 minutes a day will be just perfect. Set a routine for example right after dinner , right before bed or right after solat maghrib. If you set a regular time as reading time, you may have to fight less to make it happen. Easier. Alhamdulillah.

reading tips 4- It's showtime! Get into the story. Use different voices for different characters. Use your voice and facial expressions to convey the characters’ emotions. Perform for your child and read with excitement. You are your child's star, moon and sunshine- the only sunshine!
